Manna Ash

Fraxinus ornus

Fraxinus ornus is otherwise known as the Manna Ash or Flowering Ash. It is a smallish (15 to 25 meters tall) deciduous tree native to southern Europe and southwestern Asia. It is grown as an ornamental for its decorative flowers.

Funky Facts File: Sap can be extracted by making a cut in the bark, and was compared in the late middle ages with the biblical manna giving rise to the name.
